On 21 December I left Los Angeles en route to Yosemite. I didn’t make it that far, but I did end up riding over the San Gabriel Mountains, across the Mojave Desert in a freezing rainstorm, into the Tehachapi Mountains and the Sierra Nevada foothills, where I changed course drastically because of impending Winter Storm Europa. I rode east across the southern end of the Great Basin to the Panamint Valley, rode jeep tracks for a couple days in the Panamint Mountains to Death valley, and then followed SR 190 west to Lone Pine. The following is the compilation of posts from that trip.
12/21: Day One: It’s really hot and LA is huge and I’m tired af
12/22: Day Two: Freezing Rainstorms Do Happen In The Desert
12/24: Day Four: Fuck You Winter Storm Europa, Back to the Desert I Guess
12/25: Day Five: Headwinds and Hannukah in the Great Basin (or Mojave)
12/26: Day Six: On to the Roadless Canyons and the Flooded Valleys
12/27: Day Seven: Over the Panamints
12/28: Day Eight: Foodless Near Furnace Creek
More to come.
