Bad Traffic to Badwater (Los Angeles to Death Valley to Mount Whitney) 2016

On 21 December I left Los Angeles en route to Yosemite. I didn’t make it that far, but I did end up riding over the San Gabriel Mountains, across the Mojave Desert in a freezing rainstorm, into the Tehachapi Mountains and the Sierra Nevada foothills, where I changed course drastically because of impending Winter Storm Europa. I rode east across the southern end of the Great Basin to the Panamint Valley, rode jeep tracks for a couple days in the Panamint Mountains to Death valley, and then followed SR 190 west to Lone Pine.
